Mental Health Education Coordinator
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Oversee the daily operations of Compeer Mental Health Education efforts. This includes supervision of a
specialist (pending grant approval) and per diem instructors, compliance monitoring, facilitation of
training, and serving as the department’s liaison to grant reporting, coalitions, and community
partnerships.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
• Oversee coordination and implementation of all mental health education programming.
• Serve as lead facilitator for Mental Health 101, Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), and Workplace
Mental Wellness training.
• Supervise Program Specialist (as applicable) and Per Diem training staff.
• Ensure timely, accurate program tracking using CRM and Microsoft365 systems.
• Monitor and report on program deliverables for grants, including coordination of data entry in
grant portals and narrative reports.
• Represent Compeer at external coalitions (e.g. Suicide Prevention Coalition, SMART
Collaborative)
• Lead MHFA Instructor Collaborative, including meeting facilitation and communication.
• Flexibility to facilitate occasional evening or weekend trainings as needed.
• Maintain and update SOPs and ensure team adherence.
• Collaborate with the Development and Marketing teams to share program impact stories.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, education, or a related field; OR an equivalent
combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in program coordination, training delivery, and/or supervision.
• Knowledge of mental health, wellness, and community education preferred.
• Familiarity with grant reporting requirements and documentation best practices.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Physical requirements of this job are that of an office environment, including but not limited to
the following: prolonged sitting while operating computer and office equipment, frequent
talking and listening, occasional walking, and minimal lifting/reaching.
• Candidate must have reliable transportation and automobile insurance.
• The primary work location is Kenmore, NY however location varies based upon training site.
Some training may occur across the 8 county WNY region.
SALARY/BENEFITS:
Pay is $40,000 – $43,000 [$21.98 – $23.63 per hour]
• 4.5 day workweek
• 13 paid holidays annually.
• 140 hours of vacation per year (accrued at 5.38 hours per pay period).
• Up to 84 hours of paid sick leave per year.
• 28 hours of mental health leave annually.
• Employer contribution towards 403(b).
• Comprehensive insurance coverage:
o Dental and vision fully covered.
o Single health insurance coverage at 90%.

Social Activity Facilitator (Part-Time)
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Compeer Buffalo is seeking a part time Social Activity Facilitator to lead 3 to 7 client social activities per month.
In this role, you’ll create welcoming, supportive environments where clients can connect with others, build
friendships, and enjoy meaningful experiences that promote mental wellbeing. By facilitating engaging
activities, you will help reduce isolation, strengthen community, and advance Compeer’s mission of fostering
connection and improving mental health. This position reports to the Peer Support Program Coordinator.
Essential Functions:
• Activity Facilitation- Lead inclusive, strengths-based, and trauma-informed group activities alongside
volunteers, interns, and program staff.
• Event Support- Contribute to planning and implementing large-scale events (Friendship Fest, Trunk or
Treat, etc.).
• Accurate Documentation- Administer post-activity evaluations and maintain accurate documentation
and case notes in the program database.
• Community Partnerships- Sustain strong partnerships with community businesses and organizations
to enhance the scope and quality of social activity programming.
Overall Programming Support:
• Contribute to the annual survey administration process.
• Participate in regular Social Activity and/or Program Team meetings as applicable.
• Other duties as assigned.
SUMMARY OF REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• At least 1 year of experience facilitating programs, activities, or services for individuals with mental
health challenges or similar lived experiences.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Compeer Buffalo, including a passion for making a positive
difference in the lives of others.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to promote these values
within the organization and its programs.• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with
program participants, mentors, community partners, and other stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and
priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive and collaborative attitude.
SUMMARY OF PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
• Education in human services, psychology, social work, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of
education and relevant experience.
• Experience engaging with clients of different age groups.
• Experience in mentoring, or working with youth and/or young adults in a supportive capacity.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
• This position involves a mix of office-based tasks and community-based activities. Physical requirements
may include prolonged sitting for documentation, frequent talking and listening, occasional walking,
and minimal lifting/reaching during activities or events.
• Candidate must have reliable transportation and automobile insurance, or the ability to use public
transportation to commute across Erie County.
PAY RATE:
Pay is $20.00 per hour
