Mental illnesses affect 19% of the adult population, 46% of teenagers and 13% of children each year. People struggling with their mental health may be in your family, a close friend, live next door, teach your children, work in the next cubicle, or sit in the same church pew.

Being able to identify and address when someone is experiencing a mental health crisis is critical to one’s overall health. Compeer is the leading provider of mental health education in Western New York through the courses offered in Mental Health First Aid, training more than 5,000 individuals.
